Preschool Classes

The preschool has four, eight-week sessions, September through May which include:

Two-Year Olds and Mom

This class meets once a week for 14 weeks from September through December. Sessions are 1 ½ hours in length. This class is intended as an introduction to social interaction with others his/her own age and Mom through play time, story time & craft activities.

Children must be 2 years old by September 1st.
Classes meet Fridays from 9:00-10:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m..

Two & A Half Year Old Classes

The 2 ½ year olds meet once a week from January through May for 1 ½ hour sessions. This class serves to further develop independence and provides experiences with group social interaction through play time, story time, fingerplays & craft activities.

Children must be 2 ½ years old by March 1st.
Classes meet fridays from 9-10:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Three-Year Old Classes

The main goal of the 3 year old class is to provide opportunities for the children to work, play and share with others. Children will be encouraged to follow simple directions, listen to stories and share their ideas. They will participate in many physical activities, group singing, field trips and be introduced to several different art medias.

Children are to be toilet trained and should be 3 years old by September 1st. There is also a young 3′s for those that are 3 years old by December 1.

Classes meet two days a week: Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday
Morning session – 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Afternoon session – 12:30-3:00 p.m.

Four-Year Old Classes

The 4 year old program is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten. Emphasis is placed on socialization; color, shape, number and capital letter recognition; solitary, parallel and cooperative play; and self-help skills. Teachers work closely with the children to help them increase attention span and listening skills and encouraging them to follow directions. The goal of the program is to provide children with an interesting and developmentally appropriate learning experience that is fun and helps to develop each child’s confidence, independence and self-esteem.

Children should be 4 years old by September 1st.
Classes meet three days a week – Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Morning session – 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Afternoon session – 12:30-3:00 p.m.

Pre-Kindergarten Classes

The Pre-Kindergarten program is designed for those children who have completed a 4 year old program but are not ready for Kindergarten because of age or a lack of social and/or academic readiness. This program strives to prepare the child for Kindergarten through the continued development of listening skills and the ability to follow more complex directions. Children get practice with pre-reading and math readiness skills and the development of fine and large motor skills and coordination, science, social studies, crafts, music and group play are also important parts of the program.

Classes meet four days a week Monday through Thursday
Morning session – 9:00-11:30 a.m.
Afternoon session – 12:30-3:00 p.m.
