Youth Ministry

St. John’s has an active and growing youth ministry program for all ages.

Elementary Youth (Kindergarten – 5th Grade)

Our elementary group gathers once a month for fellowship and fun! Sometimes we stay at the church and play our favorite games, other times have outings including trips to the trampoline park, bowling alley, Fun Fore All Family Park, and mini-golf course. There are also parties for various holidays, such as a costume party for Halloween – complete with games and prizes!

R.I.S.E. (6th-12th Grade)

RISE Stands for: Real. Included. Serving. Empowered. We believe that these are the core themes that we strive for with this group – A place where our young people can come and be themselves, accepted and loved for who they are (no exceptions), where they serve their community and neighbors, and are empowered to find their purpose and use their voices in the world.

RISE meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month from 6:30pm-8pm.

The High School students have an opportunity every three years to attend the ELCA Youth Gathering and in the lead-up to that event, they can participate in fundraising and team building activities.

Get Involved!

With all our youth events, we encourage students to invite their friends. All are welcome!

If you have any questions about how to get your student involved in our youth program, please contact: Anna-Marie Christian (annamarie@sjhighland.com) or Pastor Beth (beth@sjhighland.com).

We use the BAND App to communicate our events throughout the year. Through this app, parents can RSVP their child(ren)’s participation, add the event to their own personal calendars, and get details about events. Check out this step-by-step guide for getting started on the app and finding our “BAND.”
