Mission Endowment Fund

The St. John’s Mission Endowment Fund was established in January, 2013.  The goal of the fund is to enhance the mission outreach of the congregation beyond our annual budget allocation.

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Highland is and has been a blessed congregation, both financially and in terms of talent, participation and community.  Our history has included a benevolent spirit, toward the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod, the Evangelical Church in America, to organizations in our community and to our own members in need.  The fund is a means to increase our benevolence.

The Mission Endowment Fund has accumulated assets since 2013 and has reached the threshold where it can begin disbursements.  It is important to remember that the fund is designed to be a financial blessing to the church in perpetuity.  Therefore, only a limited percentage of the fund’s assets can be distributed each year.  Decisions on disbursements are to be made by the Mission Endowment Fund Committee and approved by church council.
