Andrea Miller is a friendly, familiar face at St. John’s and serves as our part-time Office Assistant. Following her retirement in 2021 from a 40-year career in Information Technology, Andrea began to volunteer as the office assistant in April 2022 and was hired for the position in April 2023.
Andrea has degrees in Data Processing and Information Science from WCCC, CCAC and the University of Pittsburgh. She assists our Office Administrator with administrative responsibilities and relieves office work overloads as needed. Her technical skills and ongoing cross-training in our office processes and procedures enable Andrea to maintain proficiency and perform the duties of the Office Administrator in case of absence.
“I love working for Pastor Kari, Pastor Beth, and with the entire office staff,” Andrea said. “Their leadership, spirituality, and personal connection, especially during times of workday prayer, certainly bind us together. This role has provided me with the fulfillment, enrichment, and continued personal growth that help me facilitate the church’s work and ministry.”
“I also love and am so thankful for the welcoming fellowship, God-centered worship, kindness, caring, and acceptance I’ve found at St. John’s,” Andrea continued. “There are so many opportunities to become involved through programs, groups, music, worship, and activities for all ages. In the words of Pastor Kari, St. John’s is where you can ‘Come and Be.’ Our members have a wonderful connection and support for each other, for our extended church family, and our community.”
The Millers reside in McCandless and have been St. John’s members since 2001. “Our children grew up here, and now we are watching our grandchildren do the same,” Andrea explained. “Watching my grandchildren participate in their activities and sports is my favorite ‘hobby’.” Andrea also enjoys camping, boating, kayaking, cross stitch, crocheting, and reading.
