Today in our Gospel lesson the disciples and Jesus are in the midst of a storm out in a boat, when they cry out to him for help saying, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And just as surely as Jesus cared then, stilling the storm so they might know peace, so Jesus cares for us all now, knowing that he gave his life for us. As the Body of Christ today we also are called to care for those who are crying out for help so that they too might know the peace of the one in whom the wind and sea obey.
