Pray Always, and Don’t Lose Heart!

Today our Gospel lesson starts out by letting the reader know that Jesus told the disciples this parable as a way to teach them “about their need to pray always and not to lose heart” because we have a God who will quickly grant justice to his children. This is a good reminder to us as well, for while we may live in a world where obstacles become present because of things that other people do, and we can become so frustrated and start to think that everyone is against us, when we come back to our faith, we are reminded time and again that we have a God who is for us. When we place our lives in his hands, we find that what comes out is a wooden cross instead of a sword, and that God’s justice is a way of grace. And at the end of the day this is something for which we can all give thanks, for that is the kind of justice that we all really need.
