As we think of Jesus as our good shepherd on what has come to be known as Good Shepherd Sunday, I think our first thoughts are of a loving soul who takes care of us who see ourselves as a part of God’s flock. Jesus also says that he has other sheep that do not belong to this fold who would listen to his voice that he must bring together with us so that there is one flock, and one shepherd. Therefore, since we all have been charged with the care of the fold as we care for each other in the Body of Christ, may we remember that there are others outside this fold who need to be brought in, so that together, in the name of Christ and by his love, we might at the last be one flock, one shepherd.
