As we hear the story of the demoniac, we are reminded of two things. The first is that we have been called by Christ to go to the places we call home and declare to those that are there how much God has done for us. The other thing that this story reminds us of is that as the Body of Christ in the world we have an obligation to not only seek out those who we know best, but also those that are on the margins so that they can know healing and hope, comfort and care, love and community, knowing what a treasure it is for we ourselves.
