If Christ is at the forefront when we gather, then I think our Gospel for today encourages us to do a few things as we share in ministry: we should see others who also gather in Christ’s name as our brothers and sisters so that we can have an understanding that other Christians are a part of our family. We should strive to show others what unites us instead of what divides us as Christians, so that we can live into Christ’s vision for a united house and kingdom, and portray a consistent message of love and grace to the world. If we can do those things, then the church in this life might better reflect the church we will experience in the life to come, as a family seeking to do God’s will and share Christ’s love for all.
